Getting a wedding dress for that special day could be a long and tedious process but you can avoid the trouble if you know how to do it the smart way.
There are a lot of shapes of wedding dresses available for you to choose from such as:
· Straight gowns – It is usually cut closer to the body and often more revealing if you compare it to the traditional wedding dresses.
· A-line Princess gowns – Think of it as an A shape gown. The dress is cut closest to the bust and then falls away from the body.
· Empire gowns – An A-line dress with seams placed under bust for shaping.
· Strapless gowns – Cut across the bust without straps or neckline coverage and truly is a wedding favor.
· Mermaid gowns – Fitted at the waist and flairs from the knee into a fuller circle. Perfect for a contemporary wedding.
· Ball gown gowns – Fitted bodice and fuller skirt. The quintessential bridal shape.
I personally prefer the A-line gowns because of its simple yet elegant design but different people have different choices. A big word of advice is to always listen to other people's opinions but most importantly follow what your heart desires. Your wedding does not come in occasionally and they could either be very memorable or less memorable.
There is no such thing as a perfect wedding dress though the ones that you would choose would definitely be the closest things to perfect. The excitement you feel when you first step into the store is an unforgettable experience.
Always check dresses that are only around your budget and do not let the salesperson fool you to go out of your budget range. Expect to pay a large amount of cash if you are interested on getting a designer wedding dress. These prices could range from $1000 to $5000 and more.
Keep a camera handy when you shop for your wedding dress. What you see in the mirror might not be so good when you look at it through a camera. By having a camera on hand, you can also show the results of what you've checked out to your family members and friends. This would then help you on making your final choice of getting your wedding dress.
Try a lot of dresses that you are interested on buying as possible and keep a picture of each of it so that you can show them to your family members. By trying out a lot of dresses, you have a lot of choices to pick from and the process of single it out would seem much easier. Most importantly, you should definitely get a dress that you are comfortable with. Even though you think that you've found the perfect dress for you, if it is not comfortable, consider getting another one because you wouldn't want to be distracted by anything on that special moment.
Bring someone who knows you best to the store. A person that knows you the best would probably be better than a bunch of friends whom doesn't really know you just as much. A perfect candidate for this would probably be your best friend or your parents. Your parents might not be the most lenient person in the whole world but when it comes to decision-making, they are one of the wisest person you could possibly know.
If you have decided to bring your friends instead, do not bring a lot of them at once. Try to bring a maximum group of 3 because it is harder to reach an understanding in a big group because each person’s thoughts differ from one to another and rather than being a pleasure having them with you, it would rather be confusing and troublesome.
Do listen to the salesperson when it comes to sizes because they really know what would be the best size for you and allow at least six months for the dressmaking, if the dress is being made for you. You would also be expected to pay a minimum deposit of 50 percent of the total cost of the dress.
You would also need to consider that some dresses are not suitable to be worn inside a church. Usually these are strapless dresses and a few others. Keep the "hot" for the honeymoon and try to look decent and lovely at your wedding day. Your wedding day would be one of the days that you would treasure the most so make the most out of it.
When you have decided which dress to buy, go for it and do not look back. Do not regret what you have bought and enjoy the beauty of it. Have fun shopping for your wedding dress and don't forget to enjoy the process. |
